I have an outstanding amount during/after the rental – how is this paid?

That depends a bit on what the amount is. Let’s take a look at the different possibilities:

  • You extended your booking while on the road: You’ll immediately receive a payment link and can pay via this or directly through your customer account . At the latest, you’ll be asked to pay by the team when you return the vehicle, and you can also do this at the card terminal at the station before heading home.
This may also apply if you return the vehicle late
  • An additional fee is due (increased cleaning effort, fuel not refilled, etc.): The team at return will also send you a payment link for this, which belongs to this separate invoice.
  • You caused damage to the vehicle during your rental: In this case, your deposit will remain blocked until the damage has been assessed. This takes 5 to 14 working days. You will then receive the full damage documentation and, if applicable, the invoice. The amount will then be paid from your deposit (and any remaining deposit will be released). Here you can find out how the release of the deposit works depending on the card type: How do I pay the deposit?
  • The cost of the damage you caused exceeds the deposit amount: In this case, the full deposit will be retained for the repair of the damage. Additionally, you will receive a payment link for the amount exceeding your deposit by email together with the damage invoice.
