What do I need to take with me when I pick up my campervan?

What you need to bring when picking up your camper:

  • Original ID card or passport for all drivers
  • VISA or Mastercard (credit or debit) for the security deposit (with sufficient funds available and please don't forget your PIN). If necessary, payment can also be made by EC card at German stations or by American Express at US stations. You can find more information here.
  • Driver's licence for all drivers

Important note: Please check well before your trip whether the countries you plan to visit require an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to your national driver's licence. This is often required when travelling outside the EU.

You can find out whether you need an International Driving Permit here.

If an International Driving Permit is required, it must be presented together with your valid national driver's licence at pickup.

When you collect your camper at the station, we will verify that all information provided is correct and take photos of the main driver's documents.

Additional driver cannot attend the pickup?

  • Main driver brings the original documents of the additional driver
  • Main driver brings copies of the additional driver's documents and joins a video call with the additional driver to show the original documents

UK residents collecting a vehicle in the United Kingdom

For all drivers registered in the United Kingdom, a driving licence check is mandatory when picking up a vehicle at one of our UK stations to ensure full coverage under our insurance package.

If you are registered in the UK and have more than 6 penalty points on your licence and/or certain driving-related convictions, you may not be permitted to drive our vehicles.

For this purpose, if you are renting in the United Kingdom, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Driving licence number
  • Address details (as stated on your driving licence)
  • National Insurance number

You can enter the required information in advance on the website www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence and generate a check code, which can be presented at the station during pickup.

Drivers holding licences issued in other European countries and collecting a vehicle from one of our UK stations are not subject to the driving licence check.
