How to pay?
Except for the M50 in Dublin, you can pay cash at the toll stations either at a booth or an automatic coin machine. Most common credit cards and debit cards are mostly accepted as well. Additionally Prepaid cards can be purchased at Customer Service Offices and be used at the toll stations for payment.
Alternatively, you can use etoll to pay the tolls. For using etoll an electronic toll tag is needed which will be installed at the windshield. The toll is recognized automatically and charged to the account connected to the transponder. With this you can use the electronic toll tag lane at the toll stations which allows you to pass quick and easy.
NOTE: If you want to use your toll box/Telepass with your roadsurfer van, you must remember to cancel the license plate after your return. Otherwise, you will be charged for the tolls of the subsequent renter!
The M50 around Dublin between Junction 6 and 7 only has an all-barrier free toll system, the so called eflow. Tolls are paid only by using an electronic toll tag or video tolling, whereby the license plate of the vehicle is scanned and the bill paid through the connected account online. Drivers without either option must pay for their journey before 8pm the following day to avoid late payment penalties: eflow. Payments can be done online, via phone and a credit card or in payzone stores.
NOTE: If the toll is not paid, the bill will be sent to roadsurfer and then charged to you including penalties and fees.
