There are various apps that can be useful for your road trip:
Navigation
Of course, you can use the built-in navigation system or the common, usually pre-installed and free apps like Google Maps or Apple Maps. Here you can also download maps for offline use in Apple Car Play / Android Car: How to use offline maps for navigation via Apple Car Play / Android Car / Bluetooth
However, note that a special motorhome navigation app can be worthwhile – especially if you rent a very large model, such as the Family Freedom, Family Finca or the Camper Castle.
Why? With these specialized apps, you can enter an individual vehicle profile with height, width, and length. This way, you can technically avoid expensive damages (like driving under bridges that are too low), which would not be covered by your protection package due to gross negligence. But even with technical support, always pay attention to the height/width sticker on your windshield and the corresponding traffic signs.
Please note that we recommend external providers here based on our personal experience and have no connection to these companies. We do not guarantee the accuracy of the information.
Camping Navi by POIbase
This is a hot tip because this app combines navigation with height, width, and length information of your vehicle + offline maps with info on a mid six-figure number of European campsites and pitches. Unfortunately, there is no iOS version of the combined navigation and camping app!
