You are of course welcome to visit a festival with your roadsurfer, but there are a few things to bear in mind so that you can fully enjoy the festival and avoid any nasty surprises.
Parking 🚌
Festivals usually take place in the countryside. Please note that you are not allowed to drive "off-road" according to the terms and conditions. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure that you can park safely on the festival site and drive back down again.
If you get stuck in mud, we can have you pulled out by the mobility service, but you will have to bear the costs. So please drive carefully and only on pitches that you are sure are passable.
Water and the toilet 🚰
At best, fill up the fresh water tank shortly before entering the festival site. Depending on how many days you will be at the festival, make sure you have enough water. Take our spare canister with you, which you can fill up at the toilets if necessary. This way you can shower and rinse off in your camper. Keep an eye on the level of your grey water and only empty the dirty water in designated areas - not in the countryside!
There are usually mobile toilets on the festival site. These are emptied regularly and cleaned at best, but it's definitely more pleasant to use your own toilet in the camper ;) If you have a chemical toilet, you should be able to empty it into the toilet, as our Solbio is biodegradable - but if in doubt, enquire on site whether this is permitted.
Power supply ⚡
Electricity is not normally available on a festival site. So keep an eye on the charge level of your camping battery and be economical. As a rule, the power is sufficient for 1-2 days - then you would have to drive for approx. 1 hour to recharge the battery. Please never discharge the battery below 30%, otherwise it will be damaged!
Do not connect anything in the cockpit, as this will drain the starter battery. This would be a nasty surprise on the day of departure.
Take care of your roadsurfer ❤️
If it is particularly muddy or dusty, we recommend a pavilion or carpet so that you minimise the amount of dust and dirt you bring inside. If there is dust, keep windows and doors closed so that the dust does not cause any damage - this can be very expensive, especially in the ventilation/heating systems.
The return
After the fun comes the duty, because even after a visit to the festival we would like to ask you to clean your roadsurfer according to our guidelines and return it properly. As you can imagine, the cleaning effort can be considerable with mud and dust - so please allow enough time. If this is not the case, we will unfortunately have to charge additional cleaning fees. This is because the amount of time it takes will have a significant impact on our hire. Thank you for your help!
In North America, the distances are very large and therefore the conditions (electricity, water, fuel) for camping at festivals are not always ideal. But we have researched a few festivals for you that we can recommend:
