Damage on a window or stoneship on the windscreen?

If you notice damage to a window or a stone chip on the windshield, follow these steps. The procedure varies depending on where you rent your camper.

The following always applies:

Report every damage to us – whether you have it repaired or not. Every repair must be approved and documented by our damage team.

Europe
  1. Take photos (whole window and detailed photos) of the damage and report it via the contact area.
  2. Determine the severity of the damage:
    • As long as the stone chip is not noticeable from the inside, or does not obstruct the view, there is generally no danger, and you can continue your journey. Depending on which Protection Package you have chosen, you may receive an invoice after your return.
    • Damage that is either noticeable from the inside OR in the driver's field of vision, should, however, be repaired for safety reasons while on the road. Have the damage assessed and repaired directly by Carglass:
      1. If the glass damage occurred in Germany, please follow this link to Carglass. Select "Wohnmobile/LKW/Sonderfahrzeuge" and enter your vehicle's registration number and your phone number (including country code). The Carglass team will contact you as soon as possible to arrange an appointment near you.
      2. If the damage occurred in Europe but outside Germany, please contact one of the following toll-free numbers: 0 800 880 88 221 // +49 2236 96649 112. The Carglass team will help you find an appointment near you.

You do not have to pay anything at Carglass, the invoice will be sent directly to us. Depending on the type of insurance you have taken out, the coverage varies and you may receive an invoice after returning your car.

North America
