Which damages do I not need to have documented or reported at pick-up?

The following damages are considered irrelevant. You don't have to document them or report them. They are covered by us.

Below you'll find an overview of what falls into this category:

Inside & outside

Scratches & dents smaller than 3 cm

Scratches & dents smaller than 3cm → No documentation/reporting needed.

Examples:

Scratches & dents bigger than 3cmAsk our team to document it before signing the contract

Not sure about the size? You can ask our team for a paper ruler or use the widest part of a €2 coin or the silver ring on your roadsurfer key tag as a reference.
If it is smaller than the coin or ring, it is smaller than 3 cm.

Superficial scratches

Fingernail does not catch → No documentation/reporting needed.

Example:

Outside only

Stone chips smaller than 3 mm

Stone chips smaller than 3mm → No documentation/reporting needed.

Example:

 

Stone chips bigger than 3mmAsk our team to document it before signing the contract

Wrapping damage (excluding missing wrapping)

Only the foil is damaged → No documentation/reporting needed.

Example:

 

Surface underneath is visible and the visible damage (e.g. scratch) is above 3cmAsk our team to document it before signing the contract

 

What should I do if I notice unrecorded damage beyond the examples provided at pick-up?

If you spot any damage beyond the examples provided on the inside or outside of the vehicle during your pick-up, please ask one of our team members on-site to document it before you sign your contract so it won’t be associated with your rental.
