Is the water tank filled at pickup?

No, we always hand over both water tanks empty and expect them to be returned empty as well. There are several reasons for this:

Hygiene and safety first

  • For your health and safety, the water tanks in our campers are always handed over empty, so water never sits in the tank for long.
  • This way, you have full control over the water source and quality, minimizing the risk of contamination.
  • Exception: We sometimes fill in a bit of water to be able to properly test the waterpump at Pick-up/Return.

Fuel efficiency and driving safety

  • Driving with a full water tank means unnecessary extra weight.
  • More weight increases fuel consumption and can affect driving behavior.
  • We recommend filling the tank only at your destination when you need water.

Easy water refilling at campgrounds

  • Most campgrounds offer convenient options to fill the water tank upon arrival.
  • This way, you can start your trip easily and fill up with fresh water at your first stop.
If you have any questions about filling your water tank or need tips for your first campground, our team will be happy to help!
