💧 Fresh water and waste water/ grey water - Camper Castle (LMC Tracer)

You can check the fill level of the water tanks on the on-board computer:

Fresh water

The fresh water tank (100 litres) is located on the passenger's side and supplies the sink, toilet and shower. To fill the water tank, open it from the outside with the black key:

The fresh water tank can be filled using a canister with an attachment or a hose. Make sure that the fresh water and waste water tanks are closed before filling in water or using it.

To open (empty) or close the fresh water tank, you need to lift up the slatted frame of the rear bed. There is a small hole in the wooden board through which you can reach the drain valve. If you remove the wooden cover, you will see the water tank. Turn the black knob anti-clockwise to open it and clockwise to close it. If you only want to drain the water level to 20%, turn the black knob anti-clockwise until you feel a slight resistance. If you turn beyond this, the tank will be emptied completely.

  • Opening=emptying: Turn the knob anticlockwise, beyond the resistance, as far as it will go to drain the water completely.
  • Closing: Turn the knob clockwise as far as it will go
  • Reducing water level to 20L for driving: Turn the knob anticlockwise, until you feel a resistance. Then the water drains to 20L.ablass fwasser2.jpg

Caution! Fresh water is not drinking water!

Waste / Grey water

Before you return the Camper Castle, the waste water tank must be emptied.
The waste water tank (90 litres) is located under the camper on the passenger side of the vehicle - between the side door and the rear wheel. To empty it, turn the long metal rod using the green metal spanner found in the driver's door. Use the spanner for a quarter turn and the water will start to run out. Don't forget to close the tank again.

Troubleshooting

Water leaking from under the car

If water is leaking from under the car, it may be that a valve is still open:
  • Make sure the fresh water tank is closed.
  • Make sure that the waste water tank is closed.
  • Check the cold protection valve to ensure that it has not been activated accidentally. You will find it in the marked kitchen cabinet below the removable base plate:

The cold protection (or anti freeze) valve automatically drains the boiler when there is a risk of frost. This prevents the drain from freezing.

The system measures the temperature inside the van. As soon as it is around 3 degrees or lower the system is activated and lets all the water that was in the boiler and the fresh water tank out. To deactivate the system, the room temperature has to be a least 7 degrees, otherwise the blue button will jump out again.

To ensure that the water supply continues to function and the valve is switched on, the blue lever must be turned clockwise and then the blue button must be pressed in.

  • At this point, also check whether the boiler valve has been opened by mistake. It must be turned downwards:

No water is flowing

If you turn on the tap but no water flows, there may be several reasons for this:
  • Firstly, check the fill level on the on-board unit to see if the fresh water tank is full enough.

There should be at least 20 liters of water in the fresh water tank so that the pump is completely covered with water and filled so that it automatically unlocks after running dry!

  • Make sure that the on-board unit and the water pump (water tap symbol at the bottom of the on-board computer) are switched on:
  • The water pump fuse may be damaged. Check all fuses under the rear bench.

Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:

  1. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
  2. Unplug the car from any external power supply.
  3. Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
  4. A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.

Only one of two water taps is working?

If the water pump does not activate when you turn on the tap, the micro-switch on the tap lever is probably defective.

To still put the water pump in the ready state, follow these steps:

  1. Test the other tap (e.g. kitchen or bathroom).
  2. If another tap works, open it just a little so that you can hear the water pump, but no water flows.
  3. Now open the tap with the defective micro switch. The water should now run.

Attention: Don't forget to close both taps completely afterwards!
