❄️ How do I use snow chains? - Couple Cottage (LMC Innovan 600)

Snow chains are recommended when roads are covered with snow or ice, especially in steep or winding areas such as mountain passes. In some countries or regions (e.g. Alpine roads), they may even be mandatory when indicated by designated signs.

However, you should avoid using snow chains when the roads are cleared and dry, as they can damage the tyres and the road itself, and have a negative impact on vehicle control.

We rent out snow chains for the Road House, Couple Cottage, Camper Castle, Liberty Lodge and Couple Condo models at selected locations:

  • Germany: Munich, Aachen (just 1 pair)
  • Sweden: Stockholm, Malmö, Gothenburg
  • Norway: Oslo, Bergen
  • Austria: Innsbruck, Salzburg
  • Spain: Barcelona, Bilbao
  • France: Geneva-Pays de Gex, Lyon, Toulouse, Marseille
  • Italy: Milan, Turin, Venice
  • US: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Salt Lake City
  • Canada: Vancouver

If snow chains are available, you can book them as an extra in your initial booking. You can also add them later via your customer account.

Please note that there is an increased risk of damage to the wheels when using snow chains. We therefore recommend the Protection Package Max, which offers protection against tyre damage. With Plus or Basic, you would have to pay for such damage up to the excess amount. This applies regardless of whether the snow chains are your own or rented.

Important!

  • Do not drive faster than 50 km/h with snow chains mounted!
  • You will always receive 2 snow chains. Mount them on the front wheels!
