Troubleshooting
Water leaking from under the car
- Make sure the fresh water tank is closed.
- Make sure that the waste water tank is closed.
- Check the cold protection valve to ensure that it has not been activated accidentally. The cold protection valve is under the bed. Lift the slatted frame and carefully slide the cover to the side:
- At this point, also check whether the boiler valve has been opened by mistake. It must be turned downwards:
-
No water is flowing
If you turn on the tap but no water flows, there may be several reasons for this: -
Firstly, check the fill level on the on-board unit to see if the fresh water tank is full enough.
There should be at least 20 liters of water in the fresh water tank so that the pump is completely covered with water and filled so that it automatically unlocks after running dry!
- Make sure that the on-board unit and the water pump (water tap symbol at the bottom of the on-board computer) are switched on.
- The water pump fuse may be damaged. Check all fuses under the driver's seat, passenger seat and under the bed.
The fresh water tank can befilled using a canister with an attachment or a hose. Make sure that the fresh water and waste water tanks are closed. They may still be open from the last rental.
You can check the fill level of the water tanks on the motorhome. Switch on the on-board unit using the ON/OFF button, press and hold the fresh water symbol button to display the fresh water level.
Press and hold the button underneath to read the gray water level.
To open (empty) or closethe fresh water tank , you must fold up the slatted frame. Turn the black knob counterclockwise to open it and clockwise to close it. If you only want to lower the water level to 20%, turn the black knob anticlockwise until you feel a slight resistance. If you turn beyond this, the tank will be emptied completely.
Attention! Fresh water is not drinking water!
Waste water
Before you return the Camper Castle, the waste water tank must be emptied.
The waste water tank (90L) is located under the camper on the passenger side of the vehicle - between the side door and the rear wheel. To empty it, turn the long metal rod using the green metal wrench found in the driver's door. Use the wrench for a quarter turn and the water will start to run out. Don't forget to close the tank again.
Troubleshooting
Water is leaking from under the car
If water is leaking from under the car, it may be that a valve is still open:
- Make sure that the fresh water tank is closed.
- Make sure that the waste water tank is closed.
- Check the cold protection valve to ensure that it has not been activated accidentally. The cold protection valve is located on the bottom shelf of the kitchen cupboard opposite the entrance door. Lift out the bottom shelf to gain better access:
- At this point, also check whether the boiler valve has been opened by mistake. It must be turned downwards:
- No water flowingIf you turn on the tap but no water flows, there may be several reasons for this:
-
First check the fill level on the on-board unit to see if the fresh water tank is full enough.
There should be at least 20 liters of water in the fresh water tank so that the pump is completely covered with water and filled so that it automatically unlocks after running dry!
- Make sure that the on-board unit and the water pump (water tap symbol on the left of the on-board computer) are switched on.
- The water pump fuse could be damaged. Check all fuses under the rear seat.
The cold protection (or anti freeze) valve automatically drains the boiler when there is a risk of frost. This prevents the drain from freezing.Â
The system measures the temperature inside the van. As soon as it is around 3 degrees or lower the system is activated and lets all the water that was in the boiler and the fresh water tank out. To deactivate the system, the room temperature has to be a least 7 degrees, otherwise the blue button will jump out again.
To ensure that the water supply continues to function and the valve is switched on, the blue lever must be turned clockwise and then the blue button must be pressed in.
Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:
- Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
- Unplug the car from any external power supply.
- Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
- A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.Â
Only one of two water taps is working?
If the water pump does not activate when you turn on the tap, the micro-switch on the tap lever is probably defective.
To still put the water pump in the ready state, follow these steps:
- Test the other tap (e.g. kitchen or bathroom).
- If another tap works, open it just a little so that you can hear the water pump, but no water flows.
- Now open the tap with the defective micro switch. The water should now run.
Attention: Don't forget to close both taps completely afterwards!
