Everything you need to know about engine oil
“Oil change” message on the dashboard
If the message “Oil change” appears in your dashboard, please note the following:
The message “Oil change due” appears together with the remaining mileage, e.g., “Oil change due in 2000 km.”
- If you are in a Fiat, the remaining kilometers may be exceeded by 150 km.
- If you are in another make (VW, Mercedes, MAN, etc.), the remaining kilometers may be exceeded by 2,000 km.
- If your planned trip does not exceed this mileage, you do not need to take any action and we will take care of everything as soon as the vehicle is returned.
- If your planned trip does exceed this mileage, please visit a Euromaster workshop and have the oil change done there; the costs will be forwarded directly to us.

Check and top up oil level
Check oil level:
Please note the following:
Make sure the engine is at operating temperature (after about 20 minutes of driving) and the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
Switch off the engine and wait 5 minutes.
- Pull the lever (see image) next to the driver's door on the inside:
- The bonnet is now slightly open. In the middle of the bonnet, in the now visible gap, there is a lever – push it upwards to fully open the bonnet:
- Pull the dipstick (1) out of the guide tube and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Insert the dipstick (1) back into the guide tube until it stops, then pull it out again to check the oil level.
A) Engine oil level is too high.
B) Engine oil level is OK.

Engine oil level too low:
You can buy engine oil at any petrol station, just make sure the type designation "number/letter/number" matches the one below.
- If the oil level is too low, carefully add 250 ml engine oil "0W30" into the oil filler neck (2).
- Drive for 20 minutes and check the oil level again. If the level is still too low, add another 250 ml of engine oil.
Please note the following:
If you have had to top up oil several times (a total of 1L) you must visit a workshop.

- Have you driven long distances or are you in the mountains?
Park the vehicle in a shady place, switch off the engine and wait 20-40 minutes.
Measure the oil level again. If the oil level is still too high, contact the mobility service provider - Is the oil level really too high?

- Use the arrow keys to navigate to the menu item "Vehicle info":
- Select the menu item "Oil level" to read the level digitally:
Max) Engine oil level is too high.
Between max & min) Engine oil level is OK.
Min) Engine oil level is too low.
Engine oil level too low:
You can buy engine oil at any petrol station, just make sure the type designation "number/letter/number" matches the one below.
- If the oil level is too low, carefully add 250 ml engine oil "0W30" into the oil filler neck (2).
- Drive for 20 minutes and check the oil level again. If the level is still too low, add another 250 ml of engine oil.

- Insert the vehicle key into the lock in the middle below the bonnet and turn the key to position 1.
- The bonnet is now slightly open. Now turn the key to position 2 and open the bonnet completely.
- Pull the dipstick (1) out of the guide tube and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Insert the dipstick (1) back into the guide tube until it stops, then pull it out again to check the oil level.
A) Engine oil level is too high.
B) Engine oil level is OK.
