🔌 Sockets & 💡 Lights / Electricity - Cozy Cottage (Knaus VAN TI PLUS)

To ensure that all 12V electronic devices work without external power, the camping battery voltage should never fall below 12V (50%).

The light in the Cozy Cottage (Knaus VAN TI PLUS) only works when the camping battery is charged or when an external power supply is connected.
You must first switch on the light via the on-board computer above the door:

The light switches for the interior are located next to the door, above the sink and in the area of the bed:

You can switch on the exterior light via the small toggle switch to the left of the on-board unit:

I = light on, II = motion detector active

There are numerous sockets and USB ports throughout the vehicle:

  • You will find the 230V sockets to the left of the cupboard above the dining area, on the underside of the wall unit, at the head of the bed and in the boot.
  • The USB ports and the 12V sockets are located in various places in the living area, e.g. on the underside of the wall unit. The ones in the driver's cabin should only be used while driving, otherwise the starter battery can discharge.

Please note the following:

  • Do not charge any device in the driver's cab via USB when stationary. The starter battery will discharge and the engine might not start anymore!
  • The 230V sockets only work with an external power connection.
  • The USB ports and 12V sockets also work without an external power connection. But the camping battery must be charged.

Troubleshooting

If the power or the light does not work, you can test various things:

  • Check the charge level of the camping battery on the on-board unit.
  • Check whether the light on the on-board unit is switched on.
  • With an external power source: Check whether the cable or the campsite socket is defective. Your friendly camping neighbour will probably help you out with the working cable and socket. 🥰
  • Please check the driver's side in the boot:

    • Whether the RCD switches are pointing upwards:
    • Whether the main battery switch is switched on. You can find it by removing the wooden cover on the driver's side of the boot:
