The Couple Cottage Offroad is equipped with a built in fridge and freezer (90L). It is located in the living area directly under the white counter.
Turn on the Camper Unit above the rear view mirror to allow the fridge to work.
To turn on the fridge and freezer, press the touch blue "on/off" button for about 5 seconds until all bars light up.
To set the cooling level, press bars briefly to set the desired temperature. We recommend level 3 (7-8°C). The symbol with the moon indicates the "Night mode", which is less noisy.
The fridge runs on the camping battery, so make sure you have enough for the fridge to cool down properly.
Be a little patient 🥰
Please be aware that it may take a few hours until the fridge is fully cooled down! The warmer the environment is and the more food you put in, the longer it may take.
You can speed up the cooling process by:
- putting food in, that already comes from a fridge
- adding cool-packs/ice-packs
Troubleshooting
If the fridge on your Couple Cottage Offroad does not run as it should here is what you can try:
Fridge not cooling enough
- Check the camping battery level. If too low, connect the car to an external power source
- Make sure the fridge is not filled up completely, as it might have trouble cooling down properly
- Make sure the "night mode" is deactivated
- If the fridge is overheated, turn it off for one hour and then turn it back on again
Freezer compartment not freezing
- The inside of the vehicle might be too warm. Lower the temperature inside the van and select a higher cooling level in your fridge.
Fridge not cooling at all
If the fridge does not turn on at all, it might be that a fuse is broken. Previous to checking the fuses, make sure to rule other issues like low battery or main switch or an RCD switch switched off.
Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:
- Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
- Unplug the car from any external power supply.
- Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
- A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.
The fuse you are looking for (10A) is located in the trunk of the car, above the RCDs switches. It is placed on the 4th position of the row, counting from the left. The words "Kühlbox" are written below it:
If the fuse is damaged or burnt, replace it with a new fuse. They can be found on hardware stores, big supermarkets and petrol stations.
