💧 Fresh water and waste water / grey water - (UK) Cozy Cottage (Bürstner Lyseo)

Fresh water

The fresh water tank (120 L) is located on the passenger side and serves the sink, toilet, and indoor/outdoor shower. To open it, you need the medium-sized key. Open the flap and look for the blue cap:

Filling the fresh water tank works with a canister with an attachment or with a hose through the blue cap. Please make sure that the fresh water and waste water tanks are closed. They might still be open from the previous rental.

Note: Fresh water is not drinking water!

Emptying the fresh water tank

To empty/open or close the fresh water tank, turn the knob on top of the water tank. Turn counterclockwise to release the water. If you only turn it to the first resistance, only 20 litres will remain in the tank to save weight during the journey.

Waste water

The waste water tank (73 L) is located in the middle under the vehicle on the passenger side. To empty it, insert the lever (located in the driver or passenger door) into the metal rod and turn it to the left.

No water flowing

If you turn on the tap but no water flows, there could be several reasons:

  • First, check the level on the control unit to see if the fresh water tank is sufficiently filled.
There should be at least 20 litres of water in the fresh water tank so that the pump is completely covered and filled with water, allowing it to automatically unlock after running dry!
  • Check if the water pump is switched on at the control unit.
  • Can't hear the water pump when operating the tap? Check the fuse of the water pump - it is located under the co-driver's seat, far right, and labelled "Pumpe":

Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:

  1. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
  2. Unplug the car from any external power supply.
  3. Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
  4. A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.
