❄️ Winter camping - Camper Castle (LMC Tourer Lift)

Even if you are not in the camper, it is recommended that you leave the parking heater on.
8 - 10°C is sufficient!
In this way, the antifreeze valve does not trigger and the water remains in the tank.

Be aware that the heater not only consumes gas/diesel, but also a lot of electricity. You can usually be self-sufficient with your Roadsurfer for 1-2 days before you have to recharge the battery by driving or using shore power. Check in the evening whether the camping battery has at least 12.3 V (50%) voltage - otherwise it will be a cold night! If the heater does not have enough voltage and you start it several times in vain, the system may lock up completely for safety reasons.

In general, you are safer on a campsite with shore power in winter, as there is no risk of errors with the heating due to undervoltage.

Tank heater

Depending on your specific model, you have different options to heat the water tanks in order to prevent them from freezing:

As both the fresh water tank and the used water tank are located underneath the vehicle, both are heated by the auxiliary heater.
To connect one or both tanks to the warm air of the heater, follow the steps below:

To heat the fresh water tank

  1. Remove the seat cushion of the rear bench seat and open the wooden flap underneath:

  2. There you will see a white cord. It might be pulled up and fixed in the clip. When it looks like this, the fresh water heater is deactivated:

  3. In order to open the vents and the hot air reaching the tank, release the cord!

To heat the waste water tank

  1. Fold up the slatted frame of the rear bed:

  2. There you will see a white cord. It might be pulled up and fixed in the clip. In order to open the vents and the hot air reaching the tank, release the cord!

If the outside temperature is always higher than 0 degrees, pull up and fix the white cords in the clamps so that your heating air solely goes to the living area.

Please note the following:

The water tank heating only works when the parking heater is in operation!

Watch it in the video:

Due to the fact that the fresh water tank is located inside the vehicle, there is no extra heater for it.

The grey/used water tank is located under the car and must therefore be heated by an extra heater.
To activate this, press the button next to the board unit:
