๐Ÿ’ง Fresh water and waste water/ grey water - Travel Home (Mercedes Marco Polo)

The Travel Home has a water system that provides running water for the outdoor shower and the kitchen sink.

Fresh water

Fill the water tank (38L) from the outside using a garden hose or the supplied water container with filler hose. Use the medium-sized key to open the tank lid. The opening is located next to the power connection on the driver's side in the rear of the vehicle and is marked "Water".

Make sure the water tank drain is closed, as it may have been left open during the last rental.

You can check the water level on the camping display. Press "Fresh water tank" and you will see a picture of the water level and the percentage of the tank full:

To empty the fresh water tank, open the boot lid. On the left-hand side, at the bottom of the cupboard, there is a black round lever that you can pull out:

Troubleshooting

Water leaking under the vehicle

If water leaks from under the vehicle, check that all the levers on both tanks are closed. The lever for emptying the waste water tank is in the left kitchen cupboard, the lever for the fresh water tank is next to the gas bottle. You can find pictures in the instructions at the beginning of this article.

Water dripping from the shower outlet

If water drips from the shower outlet after removing the shower, the water pump may not be switched off. Flip the switch to stop the water from flowing. If water still comes out, the drain valve may be stuck. Using a spanner, press lightly on the valve (where the shower hose connects to the car) until it releases.

No water flows

If no water comes out of the shower or kitchen in the Travel Home, check that the water tank is full.
There should be at least 20 liters of water in the fresh water tank so that the pump is completely covered with water and filled so that it automatically unlocks after running dry!

If there is still no water flowing, try the following:

  1. Turn on the shower and the kitchen tap at the same time. This will release the air trapped in the pipes.
  2. You will find the water tank in the cupboard adjacent to the kitchen. Lift the lid at the bottom to expose the white screw cap. Open the lid to see the inside of the water tank. If the lid is too tight, try to let some air in through the water tank filler hole and empty some water out of the tank.

  3. There is a sensor on the top that may not be connected. If so, please reconnect it.
  4. Check that the pump is submerged and that all hoses are connected. If a hose is loose, try to reconnect it to the connector.
  5. Then put everything back together the way it was before.

The water pump should now work again.
