You can check the level of the water tank on the camper unit (the button in the middle right shows the fresh water level, the one below shows the waste water level):
Fresh water
The fresh water tank (100 L) is located on the drivers side and serves the washbasin, toilet and shower. To fill it you need the medium sized key:
The fresh water tank can be filled using a canister with an attachment or a hose. Please make sure that the fresh water and waste water tanks are closed before filling in any water.
To empty=open or close the fresh water tank, you have to fold away the mattress on the passenger side and open the wooden flap. You will then see the water tank.
- To open, turn the knob anticlockwise past the resistance to drain the water completely.
- To close, turn the knob clockwise as far as it will go.
- To reduce the water level to 20 litres for the journey: Turn the knob anticlockwise until you feel a resistance. with this setting the water drains down to 20 L.
Caution: Fresh water is not drinking water!
Waste water
Before returning the Couple Cottage, the waste water must be emptied.
You can check the level of the water tank at the camper unit (see picture above).
The waste water tank (75L) of the Couple Cottage is located under the camper on the driver's side. To empty it, take the grey handle from the driver's door and use it to turn the long metal rod that opens the waste water tank.

Troubleshooting
Water leaks under the car
If water leaks under the car even though everything is closed, it may be that a valve is still open:
- Make sure that the fresh water tank drain is closed.
- Make sure that the drain of the waste water tank is closed.
- Check that the cold protection valve is closed. It is located behind a flap on the side of the rear seat:
The cold protection (or anti freeze) valve automatically drains the boiler when there is a risk of frost. This prevents the drain from freezing.
The system measures the temperature inside the van. As soon as it is around 3 degrees or lower the system is activated and lets all the water that was in the boiler and the fresh water tank out. To deactivate the system, the room temperature has to be a least 7 degrees, otherwise the blue button will jump out again.
To ensure that the water supply continues to function and the valve is switched on, the blue lever must be turned clockwise and then the blue button must be pressed in.
- Make sure that the boiler drain valve is closed (it should look like in the picture below)
- Make sure that the low point drains are closed, you will find them next to the sliding door:
No water flows
If you turn on the tap but no water flows, there may be several reasons for this:
- First check the level at the on-board unit to see if the fresh water tank is sufficiently filled.
There should be at least 20 liters of water in the fresh water tank so that the pump is completely covered with water and filled so that it automatically unlocks after running dry! - The water pump is not heard when the tap is turned on? Check the water pump fuse:
(The fuses are located under the passenger seat)
Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:
- Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
- Unplug the car from any external power supply.
- Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
- A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.
