When you pick up a brand-new vehicle from the factory, there is a special camper antifreeze in the pipes to protect them from freezing.
We usually drain the antifreeze before handing over the vehicle and flush the water pipes. Despite our best efforts, it can sometimes happen that remnants of the antifreeze come out of the tap during the first rental. If this happens to you, please flush the pipes as follows:
- Partially fill the water tank with fresh water
- Open all water sources one after the other and let the water run until it is completely clear (sink, washbasin, toilet, shower...)
- Also run hot water so that the boiler is also flushed
- Empty the water from the fresh water tank and from the grey water tank at a grey water disposal point
- You can now fill fresh water into the water tank and use the water supply as normal.
Note: The special antifreeze for motorhomes is not toxic, but you should still not drink it!
