💧 Water leaking under the camper and cold protection valve - Van Villa (VW T6.1 Knaus Tourer Van)

If water runs under the car even though everything is closed, it may be that a valve is still open:

  • Make sure that the drain of the fresh water tank is closed.
  • Make sure that the drain of the waste water tank is closed.
  • It is possible that the anti-freeze valve is open. You will find the anti-freeze valve in the boot, behind a white cover. Bear in mind that it is somewhat hidden, so you may need a torch to see it clearly:

For the water supply to work and the antifreeze valve to be switched on, the blue lever must be in the position shown in the picture and the blue button must be pressed.

The cold protection (or anti freeze) valve automatically drains the boiler when there is a risk of frost. This prevents the drain from freezing.

The system measures the temperature inside the van. As soon as it is around 3 degrees or lower the system is activated and lets all the water that was in the boiler and the fresh water tank out. To deactivate the system, the room temperature has to be a least 7 degrees, otherwise the blue button will jump out again.

To ensure that the water supply continues to function and the valve is switched on, the blue lever must be turned clockwise and then the blue button must be pressed in.

  • It is also possible that the boiler's valve is open by mistake. You will find it next to the antifreeze valve. There is a transparent knob there. Turn it all the way and watch if water drips from the underside of the car:
  • And two more valves behind the lever for the grey water tank:
