- Open the gas bottle. The bottles are located on the right side of the trunk behind a cover.
- Turn the left lever in the compartment under the kitchen sink. Please keep in mind that the window in the backseat eating area must be closed.
- On the camper unit select "Temperature“ and then "heating“. There you will find parking heater and warm water. Choose heating and press ON/OFF (it turns blue when ON). Select the temperature you prefer.
Note: Do not block the ventilation outlets!
Here is a video snippet on how to turn it on:

Error codes
Should there be an issue with the heating, there might be an error message coming up. These are the most common ones:
Common errors on the Truma display:
E517H // E507H // E516H: The error code appears when the gas supply is interrupted. Turn off the system, turn on the gas, press the black button to confirm that the error has been acknowledged. You may need to reset the appliance and start the process again.
W412H: The error appears when a window is open. This activates the safety pin to prevent exhaust gases from the heater entering the vehicle interior. To allow the exhaust gases to flow again, close the window.
W418H // W411H // W303H // E654H // E566H: The error code appears if the voltage of the camping battery is insufficient.
Check the battery capacity on your on-board display. If the value is below 12.3 V (50%), the battery must be charged before starting the heater.
Repeated unsuccessful restarts of the Truma unit can cause the heater to block.
Reset
You found the cause of the error and fixed it? Great! Some errors disappear by themselves.
Others need to be confirmed by navigating to the black button to the exclamation mark (by turning the black button):
Now press the black button to confirm the error. The symbol should now disappear and the heater can be put back into operation using the familiar steps.
Resetting the Truma unit after an error/warning message. Only ONCE!!!
In some cases, it helps to manually reset the Truma. Try this only once – if you repeatedly reset it without eliminating the cause, the entire system can be permanently disabled.
How to check the gas flow
If the gas flow is interrupted here is how you can check it:
-
Check the gas bottles in the trunk. It should look like this:
- If the two dots (1) are no longer green but red, there is also no gas on the system. It may have turned red because the gas bottle is not open (2).Turn the brass rotary knob on the gas bottle all the way to allow for was flow. If the bottle is open but no gas is flowing, it might be empty.
- If one gas cylinder is empty, the black knob with the gray marking (1) can be turned 180 degrees to draw gas from the other gas cylinder. It should turn green again as soon as the gas is drawn from the other full cylinder.
-
The two dots will also turn red when the tube safety device has been activated.
-
Press the black button (3) on the tube directly next to the cylinder. You will hear a metallic click as soon as the button is properly in.
-
If the yellow button is sticking out (4), no gas is coming in. The yellow button pops out when it shakes a lot while driving.
-
To push the yellow button back in, press it in and hold it for about 10 seconds.
- When everything has been checked, go back to the Truma Unit and start the heating again.
