💺 Turning front seats & Entry step - Family Finca (VW Grand California)

To turn the front seats of the Family Finca, follow these steps:
  1. Move the seat all the way forward, adjust the backrest to a vertical position and fold the armrest(s) upwards.
Important: Open the corresponding side door!
  2. With the door open, operate the lever at the bottom of the driver's seat and turn the seat inwards. On the passenger seat, the lever is on the left.
  3. Be sure to release the handbrake when turning the driver's seat, if this impedes the movement of the seat.

Please note the following:

  • Only turn the seat from the outside!
  • When turning the seat back, also ensure that the seat does not jam against the side panel of the vehicle as this could cause damage.

Watch it in the video:

The boarding aid comes out automatically when you have the option on the board display activated. You can activate it manually on the Camping Unit or in the cockpit: "Settings > Step > Auto"

Please remember: retract before driving off, otherwise you will hear a loud beep.

Troubleshooting

When the step in the Family Finca (VW Grand California) is not going in, here are some things that you can try:

  1. Open and close the door once again.
  2. Make sure that the step is as clean as possible. Otherwise, dirt can block the rails.
  3. Check the board computer next to the bathroom door. AUTO light is blue: the step goes out when the door opens. This deactivates as soon as the other options (in/out) are pressed.
  4. Check, if the Camping Mode is "off". Otherwise the step won´t go in.
Please note: If you are connected to an external power source, the Family Finca automatically goes into camping mode! Disconnect the cable and switch off the camping mode if necessary to retract the step.
  5. Check, if the button in the cockpit is "off" (not lighting up in orange):
  6. If none of the above helps: disconnect the main battery for a while (red lever at the back of the boot, under the bed). Switch it back on and start the engine for a full restart.
