Everything You Need to Know About Engine Oil
“Oil change” message on the dashboard
If the message “Oil change” appears in your dashboard, please note the following:
The message “Oil change due” appears together with the remaining mileage, e.g., “Oil change due in 2000 km.”
- If you are in a Fiat, the remaining kilometers may be exceeded by 150 km.
- If you are in another make (VW, Mercedes, MAN, etc.), the remaining kilometers may be exceeded by 2,000 km.
- If your planned trip does not exceed this mileage, you do not need to take any action and we will take care of everything as soon as the vehicle is returned.
- If your planned trip does exceed this mileage, please visit a Euromaster workshop and have the oil change done there; the costs will be forwarded directly to us.

Check oil level and top up
Check oil level:
Please note:
Make sure the engine is at operating temperature (after approx. 20 minutes of driving) and the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
Turn off the engine and wait 5 minutes.
- Pull the lever (marked in the picture) on the driver’s side footwell twice:
- The hood can now be fully opened.
- Pull the dipstick (1) out of the guide tube and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Insert the dipstick (1) back into the tube all the way, then pull it out again to check the oil level.
A) Engine oil level is too low.
Between A & B) Engine oil level is OK.

Engine oil level too low:
You can buy engine oil at any gas station. Just make sure the type designation “number/letter/number” matches the one mentioned below.
- If the oil level is too low, carefully add 250 ml of engine oil “0W30” into the oil filler neck (2).
- Drive for 20 minutes and check the oil level again. If the level is still too low, add another 250 ml of engine oil.

If you had to refill multiple times (a total of 1 L), a workshop must be visited.

Engine oil level too high:
If the oil level is too high, there are two possible causes:
- Have you been driving long distances or driving in the mountains?
Park the vehicle in a shaded place, turn off the engine and wait 20–40 minutes.
Measure the oil level again. If the level is still too high, contact the mobility service provider. - The oil level is actually too high?
