🚌 Handbrake - Camper Castle (LMC Tourer Lift)

The handbrake in the Camper Castle can be either manual or electric. These also differ slightly depending on which base vehicle you have:

Fiat/Citroen

The manual handbrake is located on the left side of the driver's seat and works like a regular handbrake:

The electric handbrake is located on the left side of the cockpit, next to the steering wheel.
To release it, press the foot brake and pull the electric handbrake towards you. To activate it, press the foot brake and push the electric lever inward:

A light on the dashboard will illuminate when the handbrake is activated.

Ford

The manual handbrake is located on the left side of the driver's seat. In the Camper Castle, it is designed so that the driver's seat can be rotated without hitting the brake. That’s why it lowers again after being activated. This may give the impression that it is not properly engaged – but it works completely normally.

To activate it, pull the handbrake up as usual. Releasing it may feel a bit unusual: press the button and first pull the lever up a little until it clicks into place. This may require some force. After that, you can release the brake as usual.

Important: When parking on a slope, keep the brake pedal pressed so that the vehicle does not roll away.

Watch a short video about it:

The electric handbrake is located on the left side of the cockpit, next to the steering wheel.

To activate it, bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Pull the parking brake button from below towards you until the red indicator light flashes. The gear must be in “P”.
The parking brake can also be activated when the ignition is off. As soon as it is engaged, a red indicator light appears on the display in front of the steering wheel.

To release it, start the vehicle and press the brake pedal. Then press the parking brake button to release it. The red indicator light goes out, indicating that the parking brake is deactivated.

Note: The parking brake can release automatically when you shift into “D”.
