🚌 Refuelling - Couple Cottage (LMC Innovan 590)

Your van runs on Diesel and does not drive without AdBlue (=DEF). Please pay attention to the display! What is AdBlue and why do I need to refill it?

You can fill up the tanks via the openings at the side of the driver´s door.

You can see the diesel tank at the top and the AdBlue tank at the bottom. In the Ford Transit, you can simply insert the tank gun without first opening it with a key.
Uncover access to the AdBlue tank by opening the plastic cover at the bottom:

AdBlue

The on-board computer also tells you when the AdBlue level is low. A message appears together with this symbol:

On some models, you can check the AdBlue level in the cockpit:

  1. Press the menu button on the multifunction steering wheel (on the right, next to the OK button).
  2. Tilt the OK button down to navigate to Vehicle maintenance (spanner symbol).
  3. Here you can see the AdBlue range, among other things. Navigate to AdBlue info to display the fill level of the tank.

After filling the tank, it is best to wait until the indicator light on the dashboard goes out before moving the vehicle.

The indicator light can stay on for a few seconds to about half a minute. If the engine is started and driven off beforehand, the indicator light will remain on for a longer period of time, but this has no effect on the functionality of the engine.
If the AdBlue tank is filled when it is empty, you must wait 2 minutes before starting the engine.

Caution!

Make sure that you do not fill diesel into the water tank at the rear!

Do not confuse the diesel tank with the AdBlue tank when refuelling!
