Only a few of our Liberty Lodges have a bike rack.
It can hold a maximum of 35kg (77lbs) for both bikes combined. The maximum capacity per individual rail is 19kg (42lbs).
Be sure to check the weight, especially when you are planning on bringing E-bikes, as most E-bikes exceed the weight maximum!
- Unlock the frame locks with the small silver rectangular bike rack key (if not already unlocked).
- Unscrew the frame locks and let the bike rack down. Secure it on the rack with the plastic straps.
- Adjust the position of the wheel straps on the rail depending on your bike and open the straps:
- First secure the frame locks on top, then strap tight the wheels on the rails:
- If possible, use a tension belt, to secure two bikes.
- Lock the frame locks to prevent your bikes from being stolen. When locked, the handle can still be turned, but it does not open.
Attention
- You are responsible for making sure the bikes are always secured while participating in traffic.
- When transporting only one bike, use the rail closest to the trunk.
- Make sure that the wheels do not cover the tail lights or indicators.
- When opening the trunk doors with bikes loaded, be careful that the bikes to not damage the side of the van.
