🚌 Handbrake - Family Finca (VW Grand California)

The base vehicle of your Family Finca comes with two different types of handbrakes:

Manual handbrake between the seats

The handbrake of the Family Finca is designed so that you can rotate the driver’s seat without hitting it. That’s why, when engaged, it sinks back down to the floor. This can give the impression that it’s not engaged or not working.

When you try to release it, it may feel a bit unusual. To release the handbrake, press the button and pull the lever back until it clicks into place. This may require quite a bit of force – maybe the passenger standing behind the driver’s seat can help.

If you’ve parked on a slope, don’t forget to keep one foot on the brake so the vehicle doesn’t roll.

The VW Crafter is also available with an electronic handbrake. You’ll find the button labeled “P” to the right of the steering wheel on the dashboard:  handbrake.jpg

  • Release: Press the button to deactivate the handbrake.
  • Engage: Pull the button towards you to activate the handbrake. A corresponding red warning symbol will appear on the dashboard computer.
