The roof of the Road House opens manually:
Opening the roof
- Release the tensioning straps on the left and right of the front part of the roof on the inside, thus unlocking the roof.
- Press the switch on the side of the bed for about 3 seconds to unlock the roof.
- Reach for the ladder. It should be stowed on the mattress. Fasten the ladder and hang it on the hooks provided.
- Push the roof up and let it open all by itself.
There is a safety net under the top mattress that can be stretched over the opening if necessary to prevent objects and small children from falling down.
Closing the roof
- To close the roof, make sure that all windows in the roof are closed and that nothing is lying on the mattress.
- Connect the left and right sides of the roof tent using the tape attached to the tent fabric.
- Stow the ladder back over the mattress.
- Pull the roof down using the 2 straps (that hang from the roof into the living area).
- Make sure that the tent fabric does not stick out or get caught.
- First pull the handle on the passenger side until you hear a “click” sound and then on the driver's side to lock the roof in the “closed” position.
- Check that both sides are securely locked.
- Secure the bed again with the click fasteners.
If the bed is not closed properly, it will beep when you switch on the motor.
Please note the following:
- Never drive with the roof open!
- When retracting and extending the high roof, always open the window or door to equalise the pressure!
- When retracting the roof, always check that nothing is lying on the mattress, that the zips on the roof windows are closed and that the fabric bellows are not caught in the flaps or sticking out of the side of the vehicle.
