Our Couple Cottage is equipped with a parking heater.
For it to work, the camping battery must be charged and the diesel tank must be at least 1/3 full. In addition, the window on the table must be closed, as it is located above the outlet for the heating vapours.
The heater is controlled via the Truma display above the sliding door. It is located next to the camper unit.
- Press Room climate:
- Press Heating to start the heating:
- Select a mode, either Fast or Comfort. Fast = heats up the camper quickly. Comfort = the camper is heated to an even temperature.
- Use the - and + symbols to select the temperature you want in the vehicle.
- If you want to switch off the heating, press the switch-on button in the top right-hand corner of the display.
Note: Do not block the ventilation outlets!
The window on the dinette next to the rear seat must be closed for the heating to work. The outlet for the heater exhaust gases is located outside under the window. This prevents them from entering the vehicle.

The heating consumes a lot of electricity. Please note therefore:
- You can heat self-sufficiently for 1 night.
- If you switch off heavy consumers (such as the refrigerator) overnight, the operating time is extended to 2 nights.
- Danger of switch-off: Check in the evening whether the camping battery has at least 12.3 V (50%) voltage. If the heater does not have enough voltage and you start it several times in vain, the system will lock completely for safety reasons and can only be unlocked by a Truma workshop. If this situation applies or you are unsure, please use the Contact section so we can guide you in the best possible way.

Troubleshooting
If the heating system is not working, check the Truma unit for any error codes that may occur. The most common are:
E653H: The error code appears if the diesel tank of your vehicle is not sufficiently full.
Check the diesel gauge on the dashboard. If the display is in the reserve (red area), you must refuel with diesel before starting the heater.
W412H: The error appears when a window is open. This activates the safety pin to prevent exhaust gases from the heater entering the vehicle. To get the gas flowing again, close the window.
W418H // W411H // W303H // E654H // E566H: The error code appears when the voltage on the camping battery is insufficient.
Check the battery capacity on your on-board display. If the value is below 12.3V, the battery must be charged before starting the heater.
Repeated unsuccessful restarting of the Truma unit can cause a system lockout of your heater.
If another error code is displayed, please contact us so that we can help you further.
Reset:
The Truma unit may need to be reset.
You found the cause of the error and fixed it? Great! Some errors disappear by themselves.
Others need to be confirmed by you.
This video shows you how it's done:
Resetting the Truma unit after an error/warning message. Only ONCE!!!
In some cases, manually resetting the Truma helps. Only try this once – repeatedly resetting it without fixing the cause can permanently lock the entire system.
To completely restart the system, follow the instructions:
Go to the Truma unit:
- Select “Settings” on the display.
- Then press “General”.
- Now select “Factory reset”.
- Confirm by pressing “Reset everything”.
- The reset will begin. It may take a few minutes to complete.
Once the process is complete, the warning sign/error message will disappear and the heater should work again.
