For a warm shower in the Couple Cottage, follow these steps:
- Turn on the camper unit and check the water level. For a longer shower, we recommend at least 50%:
- Switch on the water pump via the camper unit.
- The boiler and heating are controlled via the Truma unit. The Truma system runs on diesel. The tank must be at least 1/3 full.
- The boiler must be filled with water. To do this, set the tap to “hot” and let the water run briefly (about 2 minutes). Turn on the boiler using these steps on the Truma display:
- Switch on the Truma device with the home button.
- Press on “Hot water”:
- Press “Turn on”:
- Select the desired water temperature with the “+” and “–” buttons:
- Let the water heat up for 20 minutes and enjoy.
- Switch off the hot water on the Truma after use:
Note: The boiler works independently of the auxiliary heater and consumes fuel, so make sure the diesel tank is filled.
-
Carefully pull the hose out of the tap and attach it to the shower holder.
- Always spread the shower curtain completely – otherwise water may damage the bathroom. The curtain is attached to the ceiling with buttons:
Let it dry completely before storing it away. - After showering, carefully push the shower hose back into the tap.

Troubleshooting
If heating the water does not work, check the Truma unit for error codes. The most common one is:
W412H: This error appears when a window is open. This triggers the safety pin to prevent exhaust gases from entering the vehicle. Close the window and clear the error on the device by confirming the warning with “ok”.
Reset:
In some cases, the device also needs to be reset.
You found the cause of the error and fixed it? Great! Some errors disappear by themselves.
Others need to be confirmed by you.Â
This video shows you how it's done:
Resetting the Truma unit after an error/warning message. Only ONCE!!!
In some cases, manually resetting the Truma helps. Only try this once – repeatedly resetting it without fixing the cause can permanently lock the entire system.
To completely restart the system, follow the instructions:
Go to the Truma unit:
- Select “Settings” on the display.
- Then press “General”.
- Now select “Factory reset”.
- Confirm by pressing “Reset everything”.
- The reset will begin. It may take a few minutes to complete.
Once the process is complete, the warning sign/error message will disappear and the heater should work again.
