❄️ Fridge - Road House (Weinsberg CaraTour/CaraBus 540)

The refrigerator (75L) with a small ice compartment, is located under the sink in the kitchen:

To turn on the fridge, the onboard computer, above the door, needs to be switched on. Now you can turn the button inside the fridge clockwise to switch on the fridge and ice box. We recommend turning the temperature to medium (the 3rd or 4th line):

Open the fridge carefully by pulling the black top-right handle slightly upwards and then towards yourself.  Make sure to always pull from the middle of the handle.

Be a little patient 🥰

Please be aware that it may take a few hours until the fridge is fully cooled down! The warmer the environment is and the more food you put in, the longer it may take.

You can speed up the cooling process by:

  • putting food in, that already comes from a fridge
  • adding cool-packs/ice-packs

Troubleshooting

If the fridge isn't turning on, make sure you have enough battery. If the battery is charged but the fridge is still not working, start the engine and then switch on the fridge again. This should give the camping battery a push to recharge.

If the fridge is still not working, please check the main fuse of the camping battery and the RCD (if connected to shore power).

If that does not help, we can check if the fridge fuse is damaged or burnt. Replace it with the same fuse that was in before. The fuses you find in the rear on the driver's side under the bed mattress. Lift the wooden cover and the fuses are visible.

Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:

  1. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
  2. Unplug the car from any external power supply.
  3. Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
  4. A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.

The fuse you are looking for is the one with a snowflake symbol.
If the fuse is not burnt, wait about 15 seconds and insert it again in the same position. Drive a couple of meters to do a complete system reset. The fridge should be reset and working again.
