The parking heater in the Travel Home also works when the engine is not running. The heater is powered by the camping battery and diesel. Make sure that the tank and battery are at least 1/3 full so that the heater works all night.
This is how the parking heater works in the car:
- Switch on the camping unit
- Select "Mercedes Advanced Control"
- Click on Heating
- Select heater
- Select the temperature, we recommend number 4 (approx. 18°C)
- Make sure that the vents are not blocked so that the air can flow freely.
Here is a video showing how to switch on the heater:
Troubleshooting
- Make sure your camping battery is sufficiently charged (more than 12.3V) and you have enough diesel in the fuel tank.
- If the heater still doesn't work or just blows cold air and stops after a while, turn the RCD switch off for a few minutes and then on again.
- If this does not reset the heating, check the fuses in the kitchen area. There is a line with several fuses between the back seat and the refrigerator.
Before any fuse is pulled, following safety measures is required:
- Turn off the engine and remove the key from the contact.
- Unplug the car from any external power supply.
- Pull carefully on the fuse by pulling from the sides.
- A damaged fuse can be burnt or have the connector broken (see picture). If so, please replace it. You can find them at petrol stations and hardware stores.
Look there for the first two fuses: 15A and 7.5A.
Here are the clues to know which fuse to pull and how to find it:
- Move the back seat forward until you get into the car behind the back seat.
- Go into the car behind the back seat. When the table is visible, as in the picture in the description, slide it to the right. Now you should see fuses:
- You can remove the fuse cover by squeezing it. Then pull the fuses.:
This should completely reset the heater and make it work again.
