There are 2 types of boilers in our Couple Condo:Â
Type 1: Boiler works via Gas = propane
Type 2: Boiler works via Fuel = benzin
Important to know:
How to check what type of heating system is installed:
-
Turn the black button clockwise until you see the symbol with the gas cylinder/flash symbol:
Propane boiler
Benzin boiler
If your boiler works via propane you will see:
Gas= LP(gas)
MIX 1= LP(gas) + 850W (electricity)
MIX 2= LP(gas) + 1700W (electricity)
EL 1= 850W (electricity)
EL 2= 1700W (electricity)If your boiler works via benzin you will see:
FUEL= Benzin
MIX 1= Benzin + 850W (electricity)
MIX 2= Benzin + 1700W (electricity)
EL 1= 850W (electricity)
EL 2= 1700W (electricity)Â
- You can now choose between Gas(LP gas) / Fuel(benzin) or MIX1/2 and EL1/2 by turning the black turning button and select by pressing the black turning button.
To use "MIX" or "EL", make sure that you are either connected to the external power supply or (if available) the generator is in operation.
How to turn on hot water:
- Make sure that the main battery switch is on and the camping battery is charged.
For Gas = Propane boiler make sure:
-
Switch on the propane (LP) first. The propane switch is located on the driver’s side underneath the vehicle. It has a switch that needs to be flipped to ON (or a red light lighting up in the button):
- Switch on the LP inside, above the door, too:
For Gas = Propane and Fuel = Benzin boiler:
- Check the fresh water level by pressing the button "Tank Level". There must be enough water in the tank (above 50% is recommended).
- Turn on the water pump on the main panel.
- The boiler must be filled with water. To do that, turn the tap to the hot setting and let the water run briefly.
- Turn on the boiler on the Truma display following these steps:
- To activate the screen, press the black button briefly.Â
- Turn the black button clockwise until you see the symbol with a thermometer under water blinking:
- Click on the black button to confirm.
- The text "OFF" will appear. Turn the wheel clockwise to  select the mode: ECO (40℃), HOT (60℃) or BOOST
- Once you find the desired mode, press the button to select.
- The main menu will appear again and the boiler should be working.
- You can also operate your Truma on a electricity mix with gas (propane) or fuel (benzin) or pure electricity.
- Select the gas cylinder/flash symbol and choose between:
Propane boiler
Benzin boiler
If your boiler works via propane you will see:
Gas= LP(gas)
MIX 1= LP(gas) + 850W
MIX 2= LP(gas) + 1700W
EL 1= 850W
EL 2= 1700WIf your boiler works via benzin you will see:
FUEL= Benzin
MIX 1= Benzin + 850W
MIX 2= Benzin + 1700W
EL 1= 850W
EL 2= 1700WÂ
- To use "MIX" or "EL", make sure that you are either connected to the external power supply or (if available) the generator is in operation.
- Wait about 20 minutes until the boiler is hot.
- Use the shower curtain to prevent any water damage to the van.
- If you notice, there is no water coming out of the shower, turn the silver knob in the bathroom. This pressure regulator knob takes the pressure from the sink and puts it on the shower:
- When you are done using the shower, turn off the hot water heater the same way you turned it on.
- Turn the water pump off. It is always a good idea to turn the water pump off whenever you are not using the sinks or the shower. This way you prevent water damage.

Outdoor shower
If you want to take a refreshing outdoor shower, you can do so! The outdoor shower has a hot water supply that you can switch on as described above. To use the outdoor shower, you just plug it into the connection on the top and turn on the water pump:
To let the water flow, press the lever on the shower head:
To unplug it you press the little ring back in the connector and it will release the outdoor shower.
Important: Do not forcefully pull out the shower as that leads to damage to the shower hose and the connection port!
Troubleshooting
Common errors on the Truma display:
E517H // E507H // E516H: The error code appears when the gas supply is interrupted. Turn off the system, turn on the gas, press the black button to confirm that the error has been acknowledged. You may need to reset the appliance and start the process again.
W412H: The error appears when a window is open. This activates the safety pin to prevent exhaust gases from the heater entering the vehicle interior. To allow the exhaust gases to flow again, close the window.
W418H // W411H // W303H // E654H // E566H: The error code appears if the voltage of the camping battery is insufficient.
Check the battery capacity on your on-board display. If the value is below 12.3 V (50%), the battery must be charged before starting the heater.
Repeated unsuccessful restarts of the Truma unit can cause the heater to block.
If another error code is displayed, please contact us so that we can help you further.
You found the cause of the error and fixed it? Great! Some errors disappear by themselves.
Others need to be confirmed by navigating to the black button to the exclamation mark (by turning the black button):
Now press the black button to confirm the error. The symbol should now disappear and the heater can be put back into operation using the familiar steps.
Resetting the Truma unit after an error/warning message. Only ONCE!!!
In some cases, it helps to manually reset the Truma. Try this only once – if you repeatedly reset it without eliminating the cause, the entire system can be permanently disabled.
