What do I need to know about tolls in the Netherlands?

Where needed?

In the Netherlands toll charges only apply for the Kiltunnel and the Westerscheldetunnel. Highways and other road are free of toll charges.

How to pay?

For the Kiltunnel you can pay directly at the toll gates in cash or by credit or debit card. Banknotes larger than 50€ are not accepted. Alternatively, the toll charges can be paid by Telecard, a prepaid card that can be purchased at the Kiltunnel.

For the Westerscheldetunnel you can pay directly at the toll gates in cash or by credit or debit card or with a T-Tag or M-Tag, fuel card, smartphone or smartwatch.

NOTE: If the toll is not paid, the bill will be sent to roadsurfer and then charged to you including penalties and fees.
