Here is everything you need to do for a hot shower in your Road House:
Indoor shower
Follow these steps to prepare for your indoor shower:
- Make sure you have enough water. For an extensive shower, we recommend a fill level of 50%. Check via the on-board computer the water level you have.
- Then you need open the gas bottle.
- Now turn the safety lever for hot water heater horizontally. The lever is the upper one (water tap + heating symbol). This is located behind the cover under the back seat:
- Fill the water boiler with water so the water heats up. To do this, run the water briefly and turn the tap to hot.
- Then turn on the water pump on the on-board computer.
-
Turn on the hot water heater from the Truma unit.
It takes about 20 minutes for the water to heat up.
To prepare for the shower, carefully pull out the shower hose and connect it to the shower rail at the top.
Connect the shower curtain to the rail knobs at the top of the bathroom. The curtain needs to cover the walls of the bathroom while you shower.

Outdoor shower
You can use the shower from the bathroom as an outdoor shower. To do this, open the window above the sink, pull out the shower hose carefully and place the shower through the window outside.
Some of our Road House models are equipped with an additional outdoor shower. This is located in the trunk.
To turn it on, plug in the shower hose (in the compartment below) and flip the small switch. You can regulate the temperature with the wheel next to the switch.
Troubleshooting
If there is an issue or the water does not get warm, try the following:
- Check to see if gas is generally flowing.
- Make sure that the grey valve for the boiler (see above) is open.
- If there is a problem with the heating system, an error message may appear. These are the most common ones:
Common errors on the Truma display:
E517H // E507H // E516H: The error code appears when the gas supply is interrupted. Turn off the system, turn on the gas, press the black button to confirm that the error has been acknowledged. You may need to reset the appliance and start the process again.
W412H: The error appears when a window is open. This activates the safety pin to prevent exhaust gases from the heater entering the vehicle interior. To allow the exhaust gases to flow again, close the window.
W418H // W411H // W303H // E654H // E566H: The error code appears if the voltage of the camping battery is insufficient.
Check the battery capacity on your on-board display. If the value is below 12.3 V (50%), the battery must be charged before starting the heater.
Repeated unsuccessful restarts of the Truma unit can cause the heater to block.
If another error code is displayed, please contact us so that we can help you further.
Reset:
When the errors appear, the issue must be corrected (if no gas, open the gas bottle) and the error erased.
You found the cause of the error and fixed it? Great! Some errors disappear by themselves.
Others need to be confirmed by you.
This video shows you how it's done:
Resetting the Truma unit after an error/warning message. Only ONCE!!!
In some cases, manually resetting the Truma helps. Only try this once – repeatedly resetting it without fixing the cause can permanently lock the entire system.
To completely restart the system, follow the instructions:
Go to the Truma unit:
- Select “Settings” on the display.
- Then press “General”.
- Now select “Factory reset”.
- Confirm by pressing “Reset everything”.
- The reset will begin. It may take a few minutes to complete.
Once the process is complete, the warning sign/error message will disappear and the heater should work again.
