♨️ Heating - Couple Condo (Winnebago Travato 59K)

There are 2 types of parking heaters in our Couple Condo:

Type 1: Parking heater works via Gas = propane
Type 2: Parking heater works via Fuel = benzin

Important to know:

How to check what type of heating system is installed:

  1. Turn the black button clockwise until you see the symbol with the gas cylinder/flash symbol:

    Propane heater
    GAS.jpg

    Benzin heater
    fuel.jpg

    If your parking heater works via propane you will see:

    Gas= LP(gas)
    MIX 1= LP(gas) + 850W
    MIX 2= LP(gas) + 1700W
    EL 1= 850W
    EL 2= 1700W

    If your parking heater works via benzin you will see:

    FUEL= Benzin
    MIX 1= Benzin + 850W
    MIX 2= Benzin + 1700W
    EL 1= 850W
    EL 2= 1700W

  2. You can now choose between Gas(LP gas) / Fuel(benzin) or MIX1/2 and EL1/2.
    To use "MIX" or "EL", make sure that you are either connected to the external power supply or (if available) the generator is in operation.

To heat up the Couple Condo you need to:

For Gas = Propane heater make sure:

  • Switch on the propane (LP) first. The propane switch is located on the driver’s side on the bottom of the vehicle. It has a switch that needs to be flipped to ON (or a red light lighting up in the button):

    The Propane switch will only work if you have charged battery in the coach. If you ran out of battery the propane valve will not open as it is a solenoid valve!
  • Switch on the LP inside, above the door, too:

For Gas = Propane and Fuel = Benzin heater make sure:

  • Make sure all windows are closed.
  • Go to the Truma display to activate the heater:
  1. To activate the screen, press the black button briefly. The symbol with a camper and a thermometer will blink.
  2. Click on the black button to confirm.
  3. The text "OFF" will appear. Turn the wheel clockwise to select the temperature.
  4. Once you find the desired temperature, press the button to select.
  5. The main menu will appear again.
  6. On the main menu, turn the button to the fan symbol
  7. Press the button again and select the mode: ECO, HIGH or BOOST
  8. Once you have selected the mode, the main menu will appear. Heating should be working now.
  9. Make sure not to cover the outlets!
  10. You can also operate your Truma on a electricity mix with gas (propane) or fuel (benzin) or pure electricity.
  11. Select the gas cylinder/flash symbol:

  12. Propane heater

    Benzin heater

    If your boiler works via propane you will see:

    Gas= LP(gas)
    MIX 1= LP(gas) + 850W(electricity)
    MIX 2= LP(gas) + 1700W(electricity)
    EL 1= 850W(electricity)
    EL 2= 1700W(electricity)

    If your boiler works via benzin you will see:

    FUEL= Benzin
    MIX 1= Benzin + 850W(electricity)
    MIX 2= Benzin + 1700W(electricity)
    EL 1= 850W(electricity)
    EL 2= 1700W(electricity)

  13. To use "MIX" or "EL", make sure that you are either connected to the external power supply or (if available) the generator is in operation.

Make sure all vents are uncovered. There are vents all over the vans: in the back of the van as well as well as one on the outside of the van. If any vents are covered by, for example, luggage or the camping table, the van will run an error code and stop heating for safety reasons.

When you are done using the heater, just turn the heater off on the Truma panel. Dial down the temperature until you see OFF. Press to select and the heater will turn off.

Make sure before driving or when not in use to switch off the propane on the outside of the vehicle! (only for Gas = Propane heater)

The heating consumes a lot of electricity. Please note therefore:

  • You can heat self-sufficiently for 1 night.
  • If you switch off heavy consumers (such as the refrigerator) overnight, the operating time is extended to 2 nights.
  • Danger of switch-off: Check in the evening whether the camping battery has at least 12.3 V (50%) voltage. If the heater does not have enough voltage and you start it several times in vain, the system will lock completely for safety reasons and can only be unlocked by a Truma workshop. If this situation applies or you are unsure, please use the Contact section so we can guide you in the best possible way.

Troubleshooting

Common errors on the Truma display:

E517H // E507H // E516H: The error code appears when the gas supply is interrupted. Turn off the system, turn on the gas, press the black button to confirm that the error has been acknowledged. You may need to reset the appliance and start the process again.

W412H: The error appears when a window is open. This activates the safety pin to prevent exhaust gases from the heater entering the vehicle interior. To allow the exhaust gases to flow again, close the window.

W418H // W411H // W303H // E654H // E566H: The error code appears if the voltage of the camping battery is insufficient.
Check the battery capacity on your on-board display. If the value is below 12.3 V (50%), the battery must be charged before starting the heater.
Repeated unsuccessful restarts of the Truma unit can cause the heater to block.

If another error code is displayed, please contact us so that we can help you further.

You found the cause of the error and fixed it? Great! Some errors disappear by themselves.
Others need to be confirmed by navigating to the black button to the exclamation mark (by turning the black button):

Now press the black button to confirm the error. The symbol should now disappear and the heater can be put back into operation using the familiar steps.

Resetting the Truma unit after an error/warning message. Only ONCE!!!

In some cases, it helps to manually reset the Truma. Try this only once – if you repeatedly reset it without eliminating the cause, the entire system can be permanently disabled.
