🚲 Bike rack - Surfer Suite (VW T6.1 California)

The bike rack for the Surfer Suite (VW T6.1 California) is mounted on the tailgate of the vehicle. It can hold 4 bicycles with a total weight of 60 kg. Please note the maximum load per rail of 17kg, and ensure that the total maximum load of 60kg is never exceeded.

Be sure to check the weight, especially if you want to take E-bikes, as most E-bikes exceed the maximum weight!

The length of the unfolded bike rack is 85 cm. Please consider these dimensions when booking a ferry or a parking space.

Operating the bike rack

  1. Open the bike rack by gently pulling from top to bottom:
  2. Move the holders on the rails to the left or right to secure the bike.
  3. Loosen the straps on the holders to facilitate handling.
  4. Start loading the bikes on the farthest rail. The heaviest bike should be closest to the car.
  5. Attach the shorter arm at the top of the bike and thread the tension straps through the tires to secure the bike. Adjust the position of the strap holders if necessary.
  6. Lock the bike with the supplied key (the same key fits all locks) through the keyhole in each arm of the bike rack.
  7. Repeat this process if you want to transport more bikes.

Please note the following:

  • You are responsible for ensuring that the bikes are secured at all times while participating in road traffic.
  • If you are transporting only one bike, use the rail closest to the trunk.
  • Make sure the wheels do not cover the taillights or turn signals.
  • Do not open the trunk with mounted bikes. The roof can be damaged!
  • When loading and unloading the bikes, make sure that the surface of the vehicle or the rear window is not scratched.
