💧 Fresh water and waste water/ grey water - Liberty Lodge (Thor Tellaro 20A)

The Liberty Lodge has a water system that provides running water to the shower and two sinks. The used water then runs into the waste water (also called gray water) tank.

Water levels

In the Liberty Lodge you can check the level of the fresh and gray water by looking at the sensors on the main panel. Tap to wake up the screen and directly on the home screen you see the "Tanks":

  • Blue is your fresh water tank
  • Gray is your waste water tank
  • (Black does not apply to the Liberty Lodge, as it has a toilet casette)

The warning triangle symbol either indicates empty or full tanks. The sensors can be inaccurate at times.  It might be a speck of dirt or drop of water on the sensor that is responsible for the wrong readings. So do not be alarmed, if the tank shows still full, right after you emptied the gray water.

Fresh water

To fill the fresh water tank (122L) just open up the black door in the rear driver’s side of the vehicle with your small round silver key, unscrew the black cover and then either use the fresh water hose we provide (stored in the back left storage compartment in the rear of the vehicle), the canister & filler neck or use a hose provided by the campground (make sure that it is clean).

Put the hose into the tank and then wait with the van while filling it. Make sure you do not leave the van and overfill the tank by a lot as the water will flow out into the van causing water damage if being excessively overfilled. Once you notice water flowing out underneath the vehicle turn off water right away. It is normal for it to drip a little bit and some water loss on the road while driving and when it is filled to the brim as it has an overflow protection.

To empty the fresh water tank you need to release it into the gray water tank as there is no outlet for the fresh water. To do so turn on the water pump and open the tap in the kitchen and/or bathroom and let the water run till the fresh water tank is empty. Just make sure the gray water tank does not overflow, as it is way smaller than the fresh water tank, because some water is used up and some goes to the toilet cassette when flushing. Close the taps and turn off the water pump as soon as the water has run empty to prevent damage on the pump.

Attention: the fresh water is not drinking water.

Gray water

All used water from the shower and sinks ends up in the gray water tank (48L). The tank is way smaller than the fresh water tank, as some water is used up and some goes to the toilet casette when flushing.

You can empty out as follows: open the sewer hose box located on the passenger side of the vehicle (underneath the bumper on the back of the car) and take the black hose out: schlauch entleerung.jpg

Bring the hose to the other side of the car and connect it with the sewer outlet. Bring the other end where you want to dump the water to and pull on the gray lever. As soon as you pull the lever gray water will start flowing out (so be sure you have the hose set up already).

Once you notice no more gray water pouring out, push in the gray lever and store the hose back in the box. Please make sure the box is properly locked and tied down with the suspension cord to make sure it does not open while driving. Otherwise you could loose the hose!

Please make sure the gray water is emptied before returning the vehicle to the station.
