If the engine oil warning light comes on and indicates that the oil level is too high, there are two possible causes that can be easily checked:
1. Incorrect Measurement
Long drives, mountain roads, or high outside temperatures can affect the measurement.
- Park the vehicle (preferably in a shaded spot), turn off the engine, and wait for 20-40 minutes.
- Start the engine again and check if the warning message reappears.
- You can also manually check the oil level in the engine compartment.
How to Check the Oil Level:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface with the engine at operating temperature.
- Switch off the engine and wait for about 5 minutes.
- Open the bonnet to access the engine compartment.
- Pull the dipstick (yellow ring) out of the guide tube and wipe it clean with a cloth.
- Reinsert the dipstick fully into the guide tube until it stops.
Oil Level Readings:
- A: Above or higher: The engine oil level is too high.
- B: Within normal range: The engine oil level is normal.
- C: Too low: The engine oil level is low; please top up with the appropriate oil (e.g., 0W30).
Oil Level Too High
If the oil level is above A (MAX), the vehicle must be taken to a workshop to lower the oil level.
Oil Level Too Low
If the oil level is below C (MIN), you need to purchase motor oil to refill the system.
